2018 Nissan Pathfinder Receives New Safety Features

Nissan is adding more safety features and technologies for the 2018 Pathfinder SUV, including the innovative Rear Door Alert (RDA) system, standard Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) and standard Intelligent Cruise Control (ICC). Also, the SL trim now offers an available Midnight Edition package.

The Rear Door Alert system can remind drivers to double-check the rear seat for any items they may have overlooked, from groceries to dry cleaning and more. If the system detects that a rear door is opened prior to driving, and that a rear door was not opened at trip's end, it will remind drivers that something may still be in the rear seat.

Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB), now standard on the 2018 Pathfinder, uses radar technology to monitor a vehicle's proximity to the vehicle ahead. It's capable of alerting the driver with both audible and visual display warnings if a potential frontal collision is detected, and can apply the brakes if the driver fails to respond.

The new Pathfinder Midnight Edition, which made its debut late in the 2017 model year on the exclusive Platinum trim, will now be available for the SL model. Featuring exclusive black accents throughout, it is offered in a choice of Pearl White, Gun Metallic and Magnetic Black.

The seven-passenger 2018 Pathfinder is available in four trims: S, SV, SL and Platinum.
