The Nissan Rogue is finally joining many of the other models in the Nissan lineup and getting a redesign. The redesign for the 2021 Nissan Rogue is meant to help meet the needs of modern families in an increasingly tech-hungry world. The 2020 Toyota RAV4 is only one model year off a redesign itself, so how do the two compact SUVs compare?
Focusing first on new additions, the 2021 model year of the Rogue sees a new Platinum trim level, which sits above the SL in a list of highest trim levels. Similarly, the 2020 model year of the RAV4 saw the inclusion of a new trim, but the new TRD trim is based on off-roading more than luxury. Each vehicle has its quirks, making this comparison sort of like comparing apples and oranges. Still, everyone prefers one over the other, so look at the features of the 2021 Nissan Rogue and 2020 Toyota RAV4 side-by-side in the following chart.
Each of these models focuses on different functionality to forge their identity. The 2020 Toyota RAV4 does have some unique offerings visually, especially with new two-tone exterior paints, but it is the interior refinements that make the 2021 Nissan Rogue shine. The 2021 Rogue includes so many technological features that it makes the whole model feel reborn. Nissan delivers once again on seat comfort, making it great for long drives and carrying a whole family, but the RAV4 has an affinity for adventure that ventures off the roads. In the end, each vehicle has their own niche they fill, so the choice is up to you.
