2025 Nissan Altima S

The S trim is the most basic among the Nissan Altima models. It features a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine and front-wheel drive on 17-inch steel wheels. Keyless entry, push-button ignition, and remote vehicle entry are all standard. The S trim also has Bluetooth phone and audio streaming on a six-speaker setup. The interior has cloth upholstery seating and a manual adjustable front driver’s seat.

Every Nissan Altima trim version including the S has a nice suite of driver assistance safety tech features. This includes forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, blind spot warning, lane departure and driver attention warning, automatic high-beam headlights, and a rear seat reminder.

What does the SV mean on a Nissan Altima?

On a Nissan Altima, the “SV” stands for “Standard Value”. This name is representative of the trim levels upgraded features from the base model. This trim offers a balanced of enhanced technology and features at an affordable price.

The SV trim builds on the features of the S and adds some more technology. This includes an 8-inch touchscreen in the dashboard with smartphone compatibility and satellite radio. The SV also has front and rear USB ports and a power-adjustable driver’s seat.

Families will want to consider the optional Premium package with the SV, which includes many additional features. These features include a sunroof, heated front seats, and a larger 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen. The side mirrors include turn signal lights and they are also heated, which is a nice addition for our winters here in Greenfield. You also get a wireless smartphone charging pad with the Premium package.

Another feature in the SV Premium add-on is Nissan’s ProPilot Assist system. This system has adaptive cruise control that maintains a set distance from the vehicle in front of the Nissan, which can be adjusted by the driver. It also has a lane-keeping system that can make minor steering adjustments to keep the Altima centered in its lane.

What does the SR mean on a Nissan Altima?

On a Nissan Altima, the “SR” stands for “Sport Rally”. This represents the trim’s focus on sportier performance and styling.

Among the different types of Nissan Altimas, the SR is the “sporty” trim. It has bigger 19-inch wheels and a sport suspension to provide a more dynamic driving experience. The SR also features unique interior and exterior styling changes from the other models.

For added driver confidence, the SR includes Nissan’s Active Ride Control system. The system uses engine torque, brake inputs, and other sensors to reduce vehicle pitching and improve ride quality when bumpy or uneven road conditions are encountered. When the sensors detect minor pitching, the engine automatically increases or decreases torque to smooth out the ride. When heavier pitching or bumps are encountered, the system will apply a small amount of braking to reduce the SR’s body motion. The end result is improved ride quality and enhanced handling for the driver.

The SR trim also has an optional SR Premium package that includes most of the features of the SV listed above. The SR Premium does not include ProPilot since it already has the upgraded Active Ride Control system.

2025 Nissan Altima SL

What does the SL mean on a Nissan Altima?

On a Nissan Altima, the “SL” stands for “Standard Luxury”. This trim level’s name distinguishes the Altima’s most technologically advanced trim level with premium features.

The top-tier trim version is the Nissan Altima SL meaning it has all the “bells and whistles” included. All the features of the SV Premium package are standard in the SL. This trim adds some nice winter driving features, including foglights, a heated steering wheel, and dual-zone automatic climate control. It also has rear air vents and leather seating.

Technology features in the SL trim include a navigation system and NissanConnect services. This is a subscription service that combines security, entertainment, navigation, and communication technology through the infotainment touchscreen. The SL has a traffic sign recognition system and a 360-degree camera system to help with parking in tight spaces. To top it all off, the SL has a nine-speaker premium audio setup.
